Marshall Community Service Day brings together the USC community for one day of service to remind individuals that there is always time to give back to the community!

7th General Meeting: Valentine Grams

When: Tuesday February 7th, 2012; 8-9pm
Where: ACC 205
Join us in crafting Valentine’s Day cards for patients at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles! We’ll also have Diddy Riese cookies on sale for $1 each.
Greeting cards and cookie proceeds will all be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Brown-Bag Dinner with Social Entrepreneurs

When: Tue, January 31, 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Where: WPH 107
Description: A casual, candid dinner over brown-bag meals with experienced social entrepreneurs to learn about what it is like to start or work in a business with a mission to do good to society. Students will have an opportunity to mingle and network with guests in addition to chance to receive honest advice and information about having a career in social enterprises.

Thanksgiving Food Drive 2011
OPEN TO ALL MAJORS! (not only Marshall students!)
Join MOVE and help collect items for our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive!
Acceptable donation items:
– canned foods
– other nonperishable foods
– unopened personal/hygiene items
Drop-off bin locations:
– ACC 101 (advising office)
– HOH 200 (student services office)
– BRI 104 (advising office).
You can drop off your items at any of these bins.
**PRIZES!
All Marshall orgs and individuals are encouraged to compete to bring in the most items!
- The top three Marshall orgs will win $300, $200, and $100 in funding.
- We also have raffle prizes for individuals who bring in the most items!
Make sure to attach a tag (available at each bin) with your name and organization, if applicable, to each item you donate.

Join MOVE at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank!
We will be assembling food packages for over 23,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items.

Laurie Bailon from Spark will be talking to us about Spark’s mentoring program for Spring 2012. Spark’s mission is to provide life-changing apprenticeships to youth in underserved communities across the United States.
Come out to find out how you can get involved with Spark and become a mentor next semester! There will also be refreshments!

We will be having a representative from 31 Bits come and speak to us about their business model and their work with women in Uganda. Their mission is “using fashion and design to empower women to rise about poverty.”

4th General Meeting: HUMAN Healthy Vending
We will be having a representative from HUMAN Healthy Vending come and speak to us about their products, mission, and healthy vending business model. Their mission is “to help unite man and nutrition by making health foods, drinks, and information universally accessible.”

Pet a Pup for Life (Volunteer Opportunity too!)
Do you love puppies for all their cuteness and joy they bring? Join USC Net Impact and MOVE at “Pet a Pup for Life” on Wednesday, October 5th from 12-2 PM.
We will be providing an adorable puppy petting zoo at Alumni Park, where all puppy lovers can come and play with the world’s cutest animals! We will be accepting donations that will go towards Heifer International, which serves impoverished families across the globe by providing them with farm animals and supplies so they can acquire a steady source of both food and income.

3rd General Meeting: Altria Group Distribution
Join us for our 3rd General Meeting!
We will be sharing our upcoming volunteer opportunities, including the Puppy Petting Zoo!
